Terms of Use

The short version

• JGB Tools is free and provided as is. You use it at your own risk.
• You are responsible for how you use the tools and for what you do with their results. JGB Solutions is not responsible for what users choose to do with them.
• Please use the tools for good: to help yourself and others, never to harm anyone and never for anything illegal.

The service

JGB Tools offers free online tools. No account is needed. We may add, change or remove tools at any time, and we may show advertising to keep the service free.

Use at your own risk

The tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. We work to keep them accurate and running, but we can’t promise they will always work, be error-free or fit your needs. For example, a site reported as down may be up for others, and a generated password is only as safe as how you store it. Check anything important before relying on it.

You are responsible for how you use the tools

You decide how to use JGB Tools, and you alone are responsible for that use, for what you create or send with the tools (such as QR codes, messages and downloaded images) and for the consequences. JGB Solutions doesn’t control, review or approve what users do with the tools, and isn’t responsible for any user’s actions.

We built these tools to make everyday tasks easier, and we ask you to use them in good faith: respect other people, their privacy and their property, and follow the law where you live.

What you must not do

You agree not to use JGB Tools, or help anyone else use it:

• for anything illegal, criminal or fraudulent;
• to harass, threaten, impersonate, spam or scam anyone, or to send messages people didn’t agree to receive;
• to invade someone’s privacy or collect information about people without their consent;
• to attack, overload or probe websites or networks (for example with Is It Down? or Link Preview);
• to get around rate limits, or flood the website or its API with automated requests;
• to break into, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.

We may block or limit access for anyone who breaks these rules, without notice, and we may report illegal activity to the authorities. If you see the tools being misused, please tell us at services@jgb.solutions.

Other people’s rights

YouTube thumbnails belong to their owners: download them for personal use, and get permission before reusing someone else’s images. The same goes for any content you put into a tool.

Other services

Some tools open or load other services, such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Viber, your SMS app and YouTube. We don’t control them, aren’t responsible for them, and their own terms apply.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, JGB Solutions and the people behind it are not liable for any loss or damage of any kind (direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, including loss of data, profits or business) that results from using, being unable to use, or misusing JGB Tools, from relying on its results, or from the actions of any user. If we are found liable anyway, our total liability is limited to CAD $50.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived. Where the law doesn’t allow a limit, our liability is limited as much as it allows.

If your use causes a claim

If someone makes a claim against JGB Solutions because of how you used JGB Tools, what you created or sent with it, or because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover the resulting costs and losses, including reasonable legal fees.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws that apply in Canada.
